At this time, the camp changes to a babysitting service, known as "Night Owls," which is open from 10 p.m. The cost is $6.75 per hour, per child plus a 15 percent gratuity per child. In the Noble Library on Deck 3, passengers can borrow a book to read or play one of the many board games with family and friends. There are two workstations, a large center table with chairs, and couches with tables by the windows.

Onboard Activities

The basketball court also stayed busy when we were sailing, but not in port. Down by the forward pool, there are two Ping-Pong tables, and these were always in demand. Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. Jogging tracks are available on all Carnival ships, and are even padded for long-distance comfort. We went looking for someone to help us grill up the best burgers at sea, and we found just the guy.

Guests have told us we hit on something special with the cool Caribbean chill of the RedFrog Pub. We've taken the best parts and brought them poolside with the RedFrog Rum Bar, where the frog keeps the fun hopping day and night with all the island flava you know and love. Join the party at this poolside bar featuring a great selection of frog-approved Caribbean rum-based concoctions available by the glass or pitcher, plus plenty of Carnival’s signature private-label draft beer, ThirstyFrog Red. Due in part to the ship's layout, which helped disperse passengers throughout the ship, Carnival Pride felt more intimate, but not necessarily, more crowded, than other cruise ships we've sailed. And we were never bored, despite it being a smaller Carnival ship. We had a great time playing mini-golf, splashing in one of the pools, catching the evening shows and spending time with Dr. Seuss.

Ships in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet

Overall, Carnival Pride is a festive ship and it's obvious everyone is enjoying their vacations. On top of that, we found the service was always spot on, with friendly crew that answered questions, pointed us in the right direction and helped us with all of our requests. After getting our bearings though, we had no trouble finding our way to the various restaurants, activities and entertainment we wanted to experience.

The fitness center also hosts a variety of free and paid classes throughout the cruise. During our cruise, free classes included sunrise stretch, Fab Abs and evening stretch, while paid classes included yoga, indoor cycling and Body Sculpt Boot Camp. Yoga and cycling classes are $12 per class, with class passes available at discounted prices. Children ages 12 to 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times; kids under 12 are not permitted.

Given school was out for the summer during our cruise, there were many families onboard; we were told there were 700 kids onboard, although we felt like we didn't see even close to that number. We also saw several multigenerational groups, with many celebrating special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries. Expect fewer kids on sailings during the school year, with the average age skewing older as well.

Follows the complete list of Carnival Pride lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults. CCL has the Corporation's largest fleet as number of vessels and GT-tonnage (ship sizes/volumes and passenger capacities). In 2023, CCL had ~9% (by revenue) and ~19% (passengers) share of the cruise industry's worldwide market. In 2024, the parent company (Carnival Corporation) had ~51% stake in the US$64+ billion industry. Although there are no sign in/sign out procedures with Circle C or Club O2, all tweens and teens must be registered to participate in these activities; this can be done online prior to sailing. Penguins (ages 2 to 5), Sting Rays (ages 6 to 8) and Sharks (ages 9 to 11) all participate in such activities as arts and crafts, games, and science and discovery.

On the same ship with the waterslides and conga lines is actually a photographic oasis. You’ll end up with amazing prints or high-quality digital files, and don’t forget to check out our photo packages, custom photobooks, collages and large prints. Relax at several bars with a variety of themes, such as Caribbean rums, another that is Mexican that serves frozen drinks and one where mixologists prepare your made-to-order cocktails.

Carnival Pride ship related cruise news

Otherwise, they are subject to the same sign in/sign out policy as the younger children. Parents must provide diapers and toiletries for children who are not potty trained. Children must be potty trained to use all water facilities onboard. Since April 2009, Carnival Pride was the first ship to sail year-round Bahamas/Caribbean cruises out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Also on Lido Deck and also complimentary are the Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina. It's surprising that there is only one main restaurant on such a big ship, but the huge stern-located Normandie Restaurant works surprisingly well. With windows on three sides and design which cantilevers the restaurant's upper level over most of the lower one, Normandie somehow manages to baffle the noise of ~1000 cruisers. The 2100-passenger ship Carnival Pride introduced some significant firsts for the company, including onboard wedding chapels and alternative restaurants. Spirit-class ships also boast an impressive 80% ratio of outside cabins and lots of nice little touches such as 'designer' martinis and museum-quality artwork. Attending Camp Ocean is free for all children throughout the day until 10 p.m.

Filled with numerous slots machines and gaming tables, passengers can try their luck day or night in the casino. Gaming tables include roulette, craps, blackjack, poker and more. The casino hosts tournaments throughout the cruise, including Texas Hold'em, slots, blackjack and more.

Circle C welcomes preteens and teens ages 12 to 14 to engage in scavenger hunts, compete at karaoke or challenge one another in basketball or mini-golf. Toward the end of the cruise, the program will usually host a Pride Prom, for which young teens can get all dressed up. The Raphael Room on Deck 3 is a small conference room that played host to the art shows during our cruise. There's also a chapel on Deck 3 that stayed busy throughout our cruise with private meetings. Get into an island state of mind before you even set foot on one.

The artworks include Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, Da Vinci, also details of the architecture in Byzantine Empire, Victorian England, Ancient Greece, Italian Renaissance. For summer 2023 season, the ship was scheduled for another deployment in Europe (British Isles, UK and Iceland, Norwegian Fjords) out of Dover. Follows the complete list of Carnival Pride restaurants and food bars. For a casual meal, head to Lido Deck which entire back half is occupied by dining tables and various food stations.
